Lord Ganesha is a major Hindu deity, revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom. He is the elephant-headed son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is worshipped before any new new venture. He is also known by names like Ganapati, Vinayaka, and is associated with new beginnings, arts and sciences.
