### Cattle Too Need a Resting Place
Today, as I walked down a familiar street, my eyes caught a peaceful sight—a cow resting in the shade on the road. Instinctively, I paused and took out my mobile to capture this quiet moment. It was not just the animal that drew my attention, but the entire atmosphere: the bright yellow building beside her, the dappled sunlight filtering through leafy branches, and the calm surrounding stillness.
In that instant, a thought flashed in my mind: “Cattle too need a resting place.” The simplicity of this revelation, though obvious, felt profound. Amidst the busyness of human life and the movement of cars and people, this cow had found her sanctuary on a bare patch of road. She looked comfortable and undisturbed, enjoying a moment of rest.
The scene reminded me that animals also have their basic needs—rest, shelter, safety. In urban and semi-urban India, where streets and public spaces are often shared between humans and animals, it’s easy to overlook how we coexist and depend on each other.
This image made me reflect on the importance of empathy—offering patience and kindness to animals, respecting their presence in our surroundings. Public spaces aren’t only for human convenience; sometimes, a patch of shade on the road can mean everything to a tired creature.
Posting this photograph, I hope it inspires a moment of thoughtfulness: just as we seek comfort and rest, so do the cattle and all other living beings sharing our world. The next time I spot such a scene, I will pause, observe, and appreciate this gentle reminder.
