My charcoal pencil sketch of Ashapurna Devi. Here is a brief introduction about this great lady.
 

Tributes to Ashapurna Devi, a prominent Bengali novelist and poet, whose works were marked by her fervent beliefs in equality and justice for women.

Through her writings, she became the voice of millions of Indian women.

In 1976, she was awarded the Jnanpith Award and Padma Shri by the Government of India, D.Litt. by the Universities of Jabalpur, Rabindra Bharati, Burdwan and Jadavpur.
